Usually answered within a day. It helps to say which agent you use (ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code…), which device, and what you expected to happen.

What is AimYear?
One big aim for the year, a path of stages toward it, one main step a day, and an honest record of where your time went. You talk to it through the AI agent you already use; the AimYear server keeps the aim, the plan, the timer and the history. The guide walks through the whole process with a real example.
How do I connect my agent?
Add the server https://mcp.aimyear.com/mcp to your agent and sign in when it asks. The setup guide has the exact steps for ChatGPT, Claude (web, desktop, mobile), Claude Code and any other MCP client. Connecting is free.
My agent doesn't see the AimYear tools
- Start a new chat: most agents load a connector's tools only at the start.
- Check that the connector is turned on for this chat (in ChatGPT and Claude, the tools menu under the message box).
- If it asks you to sign in again, do: a sign-in can expire.
- In Claude Code, run
claude mcp list. If AimYear shows as failed, remove it and add it again.

Does my agent need the /aim skill?
No. The server gives every agent the method behind it (how to set a countable aim, order the stages, choose the day's main step). In Claude Code you can also install it as a skill, so /aim works as a command: the file is skills/aim/SKILL.md, saved as ~/.claude/skills/aim/SKILL.md.
Is there an app?
Yes, for iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows, coming soon. It shows your aim, today, the timer and your path, and it works with the same account as your agent.
The timer and the stop rule
Why did AimYear say "Stop"?
You started comfortable work on your aim while today's main step was still undone. That is the one thing AimYear is built to catch. You can do 25 minutes on the main step first, or tell your agent to go ahead anyway: it is your call, and the override is noted in your day. Work on other projects, life and hard work toward the aim are never stopped.
The timer is running and I didn't start it
Your agent starts the timer when you begin work in a chat, so the time is recorded without you thinking about it. The app shows which agent started each session. Stop it from the app or tell your agent "pause".
I forgot to stop the timer
Tell your agent what really happened, for example "yesterday's session ended at 18:30, not midnight". It can change the end time, the task or the area of any past session, or delete it. Past work you didn't time can be added the same way: "log 40 minutes of running this morning".
Free and Pro
What is free and what is Pro?
Free is access: your account on any number of devices; setting and changing aims and tracking time through your own agent; the app's dashboard with your aim and today; downloading your data and deleting your account.
Pro is AimYear working for you: phone reminders and the stop rule on your phone, weekly reviews written by AimYear, help from AimYear's own AI coach, Google Calendar sync, posting your day's progress to WIP and Bluesky, and every app screen beyond the dashboard.
How much is Pro?
$49.99 a year or $7.99 a month. There is no lifetime plan. One subscription covers your account on every device.
Where do I buy Pro?
In the app, through the App Store or Google Play. Buying on aimyear.com, without the app, is coming.
How do I cancel?
Cancel where you bought it:
- iPhone, iPad, Mac: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → AimYear.
- Android: Google Play → your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → AimYear.
Deleting your AimYear account doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel it first, or it keeps billing. Refunds for store purchases are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play.
Your data
Where is my data kept, and who can see it?
On AimYear's server, under your account, so every device and every agent you connect sees the same aim and history. We never sell it or share it for ads. What is kept, where and for how long is in the Privacy Policy.
How do I disconnect an agent?
In the app: Profile → connected agents → Disconnect. You can also remove the connector in the agent's own settings.
How do I download my data?
In the app: Profile → Download my data. You get a JSON file with everything AimYear keeps about you and a CSV of your sessions. It's free. Saved WIP and Bluesky logins are left out.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Profile → Delete account. It shows what will be deleted, then deletes everything AimYear keeps about you from the server. Without the app, email support@aimyear.com from your account's address. Cancel any subscription first: deleting doesn't cancel it.
