ChatGPT

Custom connectors need a paid ChatGPT plan (Plus or Pro). On Business and Enterprise, an admin may need to allow them first.

  1. Open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode. If you don't see it there, look under Settings → Security; ChatGPT has moved this switch before.
  2. Back in Apps & Connectors, press Create.
  3. Fill in:
    • Name: AimYear
    • Description: My yearly aim, daily plan and work timer
    • MCP server URL: https://mcp.aimyear.com/mcp
    • Authentication: OAuth
  4. Tick I trust this application and press Create.
  5. The AimYear sign-in page opens. Sign in with Google, Apple or email.
  6. In a new chat, open + → Developer mode and choose AimYear.

ChatGPT asks you to confirm each action that changes something, such as saving a plan or starting the timer.

Claude (web, desktop, mobile)

Works on every Claude plan. On the free plan you can add one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it for the organization.

  1. On claude.ai or in the desktop app, open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Press Add custom connector.
  3. Name it AimYear and paste https://mcp.aimyear.com/mcp as the URL. Leave the advanced settings empty.
  4. Press Add, then Connect, and sign in on the AimYear page.
  5. In a chat, open the tools menu under the message box and check that AimYear is on.

Once added on the web or desktop, the connector also works in the Claude mobile app.

Claude Code

  1. In a terminal, run:
claude mcp add --transport http aimyear https://mcp.aimyear.com/mcp
  2. Start Claude Code, type /mcp, choose aimyear and Authenticate.
  3. Sign in on the page that opens in your browser.

Add --scope user to the command to have AimYear in every project, not only the current folder.

Other MCP clients

Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and other clients that support remote MCP servers: add a remote server with transport Streamable HTTP and the URL https://mcp.aimyear.com/mcp. Sign-in is OAuth with automatic client registration, so you don't need an API key.

What to say first

Same account everywhere: sign in with the same Google, Apple or email account in every app, and ChatGPT, Claude and Claude Code all see the same aim, plan and history.
